Centre
for Component Software and Enterprise Systems (CeCSES, pronounced
the same as 'success') is part of the Faculty of Information
and Communication Technologies at Swinburne University of Technology. It
conducts research into component based engineering of software and enterprise
systems. It operates the Enterprise System
Research Lab, which is particularly equipped to support research
in software and enterprise systems. The group also provides consultancy
to industry and governments in the areas of its expertise.

News Highlights

October 2006: Jun Han and Jean-Guy Scheneider have been awarded
an ARC Linkage Project grant ($273K) for three years in the area of Rich
Service Registry with additional support from our partner CA.

September 2006: CeCSES has secured $1.2M from the AutoCRC for the
Proactive Maintenance project over three years (reconfigurable system architecture,
architecture design and large-scale data analysis).

January 2006:
CeCSES has esatblished two collaborative research projects with CA's
R&D
Labs in the areas of Rich Service Registry and Enterprise Systems
Simulation Environment, which fund two high-value scholarships over three
years.

January 2006:
CeCSES and Holden
jointly work on the Proactive Maintenance research project with support
from the AutoCRC.

January 2006:
CeCSES has been awarded University research funding for a project on
security engineering for service oriented systems.

September 2005:
CeCSES has established a collaborative reseach project with Powercor,
to investigate issues related to System Performance and Scalability.

9 August 2005:
The inaugural information
evening of eSecurity
Victoria was held in Melbourne CBD, where Prof Jun Han gave
a presentation entitled “Universities and an eSecurity Cluster in Victoria”
on behalf of Victorian universities. CeCSES is one of the initiators for
the eSecurity Victoria initiative. Here are some photos

June 2005:
CeCSES together with CIAMAS and CICEC has been awarded an ARC Linkage
grant for a three-year research project on Agent-Enabled Social Networks
in collaboration with Everyday
Interactive Networks (EIN).

April 2005:
CeCSES has established research collaboration with Sparx
Systems, the developer of the UML tool Enterprise Architect,
to jointly develop UML-based tool support for the software architecture
rationalisation methodology developed by CeCSES.

December 2004:
CeCSES is a partner in the successful
bid for the CRC
for Advanced Automotive Technology (AutoCRC), which has attracted
Australian Government funding of $38.35 million over seven years and is
due in operation in July 2005.

May 2004:
CeCSES is part of a successful
Swinburne bid for an Australian Goverment - DEST Competitive Grant,
for a project aimed at collaboration with the EU Adaptive
Service Grids Consortium and involving a number of industry
and research partners.
