An Investigation into Architecture Design Rationale: A Survey.

This survey is part of a long term research project to investigate the use of design rationale.  The purpose is to study how practising software architects capture and use design rationale during the software development life-cycle. The survey will provide insights into what software architects see as important in reasoning about architecture decisions. The data will enable us to formulate theories to understand design decision making and to eventually improve design reasoning, verification and maintenance. The survey will be open between 27th June 2006 and 31st August 2006. You can access the on-line survey form via this link.  You can view the invitation here.
